Shared Visions Business Incubator
The Shared Visions Center (SVC) , at 1821 Green Street, is a non-profit incubator designed to nurture and support new and emerging social service groups in our community with shared services and technical support. With rents beginning at $200 a month, including high speed internet access, the Center hopes to provide valuable assistance towards sustainability and success in the critical early stages of social service programs.
UPDATE: On April 25th, 2007, this project, including the building, was handed over to Democracy, NC, (http://www.democracy-nc.org) an excellent statewide non-profit organization based in Carrboro that will be moving their offices to this site on May 5th. This group has experience managing shared space for non-profits and has agreed to take on the project of housing and sharing space with other non profit groups within the building at budget rates, including high speed Internet service. Democracy's on site management will make for a more productive and vibrant non-profit center and applications for space will be accepted immediately. Shared Visions has provided the building at cost as well as some grant funding for upfitting the space. Please Contact Democracy NC at 967-9942 to inquire about renting space.
