What We Do|
Shared Visions Foundation realizes that sufficient support is vital to a nonprofit's ability to serve the community. Far too often, nonprofit agencies are faced with the challenge of meeting their needs with limited resources. The Foundation seeks to close the gap between needs and resources, particularly in the area of Mental Health, by working with nonprofit organizations through service and monetary grants.
Service grants usually focus on social entrepreneurship, networking, collaboration and capacity building, including strategic and financial planning.
Each year, Shared Visions Foundation awards modest monetary grants. Recent past grantees have included Book Harvest, Chapel Hill/Carrboro Public School Fdn., Club Nova, Community Empowerment Fund, Community Home Trust, Dispute Settlement Center, Durham Jazz Workshop, Durham Music Teachers Assn., El Futuro, Empowerment, Faith Connections, Freedom House, Habitat for Humanity - Durham County, Habitat for Humanity - Orange County, Human Kindness Foundation, InterFaith Council for Social Service, Josh's Hope, Legislative breakfast on Mental Health, Music Maker Relief, Musical Empowerment, NAMI - Orange County, NC - WARN, Orange Bail Bond Justice, Partners for Youth, Reality Ministries, The ArtsCenter, The Carolina Theatre, TROSA, UNC Center for Excellence in Mental Health, UNC School of Social Work, and Urban Ministries.
